Director: Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Religion, Community and Ecology
The Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and the operational management of the centre, over and above his/her normal academic responsibilities within the faculty, which include:
Continuous updating of the strategic plan of the centre in consultation with the UFS structures.
Continuous updating of the business plan of the centre.
Manage operations.
Prepare an annual project and financial report.
Arrange meetings as outlined in the proposal and provide administrative support for meetings.
Market and profile the centre within and beyond UFS.
Fundraise for the activities.
Identify projects to undertake within the centre.
Manage finances.
Manage information.
Ensure effective resource utilisation.
Ensure the realisation of the research and community engagement mandate of the centre.
Inherent Job Requirements:
PhD on NQF Level 10 in any discipline within Theology and Religion.
Any full-time, permanent member of the academic staff of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of the Free State (UFS).
Recommendations:
Appointed at Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor level.
A proven track record of well-developed national and international networks.
