Distribution Centre Manager

Boxer Superstores, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pick and Pay, is a rapidly growing Supermarket discount chain operating in all provinces throughout South Africa. Owing to our growth we are looking for an experienced Distribution Centre Manager to join our soon to be opened Distribution Centre in Polokwane.

Job Deliverables

Reporting to the HOD Supply Chain, the successful candidate will be responsible for the complete DC facility and operation, ultimately ensuring that all our Supermarkets receive what they ordered in time and within cost budgets. This involves, but not limited to, managing the inbound and outbound, storage, distribution of stock within the supply chain to geographical customer base serviced by the distribution centre, and ensuring a supply of stock on time in full whilst delivering excellent customer service within a set budget.

Main job function

• Manage DC layout standards, procedures & transport costs
• Overseeing of WMS
• Managing inbound, put away, replenishment picking and dispatch
• Equipment maintenance and management
• OHS
• Manage security and maintain shrinkage
• Communication and Staff management of more than 300 staff
• Management of KPI’s
•  Maintain warehousing policies and procedures

Qualifications and experience

• 3 year degree (supply chain)
• 10 years’ experience in the logistics industry
• 5 years senior management experience
• Transport experience
• WMS systems
• FMCG warehousing experience( must have been a DC Manager)
• Previous experience of continuous improvements
