Job Advert Summary    

• Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draughtsperson to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or designers. You will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create, update, and maintain drawings while ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• The ideal candidate has strong technical drawing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical information. You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a project team to deliver high-quality drawings within deadlines.

Minimum Requirements    

• Minimum Grade 12
• NQF Level 6 Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering.
• Detailing / Multi-disciplinary Drawing Office Practice essential.
• Basic CAD and Solid works.
• Knowledge of the SAP system would also be an added advantage.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to function independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Interact with role players at all levels of the organization and outside the organization.
• High degree and sense of customer service.
• Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong judgement and decision-making skills.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Create designs and layouts as required.
• Revise and amend existing drawings on system when required.
• Consider the optimal use of material when designing to conform to standards.
• Make engineering drawings for production and manufacture.
• Get quotations for parts to be manufactured or reworked.
• Accurately calculate and capture all relevant sales orders and provide quotations.
• Communicate product requirements to purchasing department.
• Communicate new leads to external sales representative and sales management.
• Liaise with production and distribution to ensure on time delivery.
• Liaise with procurement buyouts and local purchases.
• Ensure customer is kept well informed on order status and implement corrective action when required.
• Meet and exceed sales target.
• Meet and exceed gross profit target.
• Follow up on quotes and orders.
• Answer phones in a friendly and professional manner
• Ensure feedback communicated to management on quotes, orders, stock out items and service delivery failure.
