A vacancy exists for a Driver/Services Assistant, reporting to the Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining a hygienic and safe patient/workplace environment and to ensure availability of resources (equipment, materials and consumables) in the facility at all times, as well as providing a safe and reliable courier and/or passenger transport services in facility.
Critical Outputs
Complete minor repair work, which includes repairing doors, locks, door frames and handles as well as replacing light bulbs, sockets, switches, and window glass.
Perform basic plumbing tasks, which includes unclogging drains as well as fixing leaking faucets and toilets.
Performing and maintaining paint work in the facility.
Inspecting control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention.
Stock control of maintenance supplies and ordering of low or depleted supplies.
Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
Perform routine inspections of facility as delegated by management and address any unreported Maintenance defects.
Keep company vehicles clean.
Deliver and collect all items and/or passengers as requested and authorized by Management – obtain proof of delivery.
Follow rules of the road and always drive within the speed limits.
Maintain Service records of all vehicles.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any necessary repairs.
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent level of education.
Practical experience in a hospital environment or similar environment is essential.
Computer proficiency
Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
Valid driver’s license.
