Electrical Supervisor X 1 REF:IVP-ES-2501 at Ivanhoe Mines

Suitable candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 (NQF 4)
• Recognised Trade Qualification (Section 13/26D) or completed apprenticeship with NTC 2 Trade Theory
• Senior Foreman-related certification or equivalent international qualification (preferred)
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Team leadership and mentoring
• Contractor and resource management
• Planning and coordination of electrical projects
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of power reticulation systems (LV, MV, HV)
• Understanding of electrical safety regulations and MHSA compliance

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: 

• Minimum 10 years post-apprenticeship experience, with at least 4 years as a qualified artisan in mining electrical environments
• Proven track record in managing electrical installations in shaft sinking projects
• Experience in electrical construction projects in both surface and underground mining environments (preferred)

Your successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise electrical infrastructure installation, testing, and commissioning
• Ensure electrical work meets project specifications, quality standards, and deadlines
• Conduct planned and preventative maintenance on electrical systems including substations, transformers, and HV/MV/LV networks
• Enforce compliance with MHSA regulations, electrical codes, and SHEQ standards
• Lead and mentor electrical teams, supporting skills transfer initiatives
• Manage electrical materials, tools, spares, and contractors to meet project requirements within budget
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and safety meetings
• Support commissioning activities and verify operational readiness
• Liaise with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
