Electrical Technician Specialist - Mogalakwena Mine at Redpath Chilena Construcciones & Cia. Ltda

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Recognised Electrical Trade Test
• NQF Level 6/ S4/T3 Diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ underground shaft experience
• Competent B certificate is advantageous
• Valid Driver’s License
• Medically fit

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• Must have strong instrumentation background
• Knowledge of SANDVIK drill rigs
• Knowledge of SANS 10142 standards
• Legal requirements as per Mine Health and Safety act
• Installation and maintenance of machinery including HT switchgear
• Maintenance according to OEM standards
• Knowledge of environmental, health and Safety standards
• Working knowledge of the Mine, Health and Safety Act and Regulations

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and implement communications system layout (Voice comms)
• Manage and maintain SCADA network with all field device connectivity
• Programming mine starter PLC for integration with new technologies
• Manage and implement long term strategies for central blasting system
• Auditing of electrical protection settings (LV network)
• Manage and control IOT smart lighting system for full usage
• Work with electrician to install and maintain electrical equipment
• Work on instrumentation equipment
• Legal requirements as per Mine Health and Safety act
