Electrician - Durban West at Safal Steel

Description

• Performing Isolation specialist duties when required
• Fault finding and attending to plant breakdowns
• Knowledge off PLC systems proportional hydraulic systems, weighing systems, water treatment plants, and overhead gantry cranes.
• Assist in setting up Standard Engineering and Operating Procedures
• Comply to safety regulations and procedures
• Planning and organising of tasks and workplace
• Plant inspections, compilation of reports.
• Installing electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment.
• Perform basic fitting, welding, rigging and related maintenance tasks.
• Pre-start check, start-up procedures, controls the process, shut down the process and solve problems.
• Providing specialist support to maintenance and production teams.
• Developing applicable knowledge and skills related to the position profile.
• Must be prepared to work shifts, standby and overtime when required. Capable of working alone and under pressure.
• Assist in the training of new employees within functional duties.
• Ability to liaise with team members, and cross-departmental personnel about plant issues or problems and effectively action it.
• Continuously reporting observed defects and deviations from the standard maintenance parameters and requirements to the maintenance superintendents.
• Proficient in official business language, good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate efficiently to team members.
• Must be comfortable working at heights
• Must have own transport

Requirements

• Grade 12 with an Electrical Engineering qualification + Trade tested Electrician (Red Seal from approved training Centre)
• General work experience (years): Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in industrial/manufacturing/Heavy Engineering environment
