Job specification

• Trade Test preferably Section 13 or Section 26(D).
• Proficiency in English and any other of 11 official languages
• Ability to work flexible hours and perform standby duties
• 2-3 years post qualification experience, having worked in a Trackless Mine will be advantageous
• Independent judgment, initiative, outstanding technical and communication skills are required and essential
• Excellent knowledge of underground electrical installations and distribution, Chairlifts, VSD’s and PLC’s
• Depth knowledge of electrical voltages and lock-out procedure
• South African Driver’s license (Code 8-10) essential
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities

• Functional support, quality control and best practices withing the Engineering Section
• Specialized knowledge to analyses and solve complex problems
• Perform effective routine maintenance in electrical, planning and projects organization
• Troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis
• Ability to make rough sketches, pre-planning and estimate cost, and report to supervisor
• Preventative and scheduled maintenance on switch gears, transformers, and electrical cables
• Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with prescribed standard procedures, specifications and practices
