Engineer Maintenance at Mondi Group

Job Purpose

• Reporting to the Merebank Maintenance Manager, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for all planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance work to be carried out on the paper machine, as well as leadership of the mechanical team on the paper machine at Merebank mill.

Minimum Education:

• BSc or BTech Mechanical Engineering

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in heavy engineering environment
• Minimum 2 years spent on paper machine maintenance

Responsibilities / Kpas

• Ensure mechanical maintenance activities (planned and unplanned maintenance) are conducted to ensure the availability of the paper machine
• Ensure statutory mechanical work is conducted in accordance with required legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of asset management principles such as ‘Root cause analysis’ to reduce repeat failures
• Leadership of the paper machine mechanical team
