Engineer / Senior Technician OHL at Trans Africa Projects

Purpose of the Job:

• Distribution Overhead Power Line Designs.
• Transmission OHL knowledge would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of OHL design simulation tools and structural analysis.
• Understanding Civil and Geotechnical reporting.

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):

• Design a product for the client that details all the technical aspects of the design.
• Proficient in PLS-Cadd, PLS-Tower, and PLS-Pole.
• Design method 4 towers in PLS-Tower and analyze the load cases. Creating and editing drawings using CAD software.
• Serve as line design technical professional in providing consultation and guidance to project teams.
• Present at the design committees within the specified timelines to ensure on-time delivery of the final design.
• Conceptualize the design and discuss it with the client for first approval or gain buy-in.
• Suggest designs that will meet clients’ requirements with minimum costs.
• Validate all design aspects and processes of all designs.
• Manages project design within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• BSC Engineering or B Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Overhead Power Lines Design experience.

Other competencies and requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience high voltage substations and/or overhead line Civil.
