Engineering Foreman at The Key Recruitment Group

Job Description

• Well-established manufacturing company is looking to employ an Engineering Foreman at their plant near Piet Retief in Mpumalanga. You will plan and allocate work on a day-to-day basis to artisans and apprentices engaged on maintenance, construction or minor improvement work.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Grade 12 with Core Mathematics (Not Maths Lit).
• Minimum N4 in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Trade tested artisan (Fitter/Turner, Millwright, Electrician)
• At least 5 years’ engineering maintenance.
• At least 3 years’ experience in managing a team.
• Experience in PM Best practices.
• QMS experience (ISO14000, 18000, etc.)
• SHE experience (legislative appointments/responsibilities).
• Civil and services experience.
• Knowledge and experience with steam reticulation and steam generators.
• Knowledge and experience in rigging and lifting equipment legalities.
• Able to absorb the GMR 2.7 legal appointment.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities would include you to:

• Plan, allocate and control work to artisans and contractors paying particular attention to quality, productivity and safety
• Ensure that all necessary administration work is completed and returned to the appropriate administrative centre in accordance with company procedures
• Quantify materials, respond to emergencies and changes in work program, and acquire essential plant and equipment
• Initiate and/or approve stores requisitions and orders, liaising with material and plant suppliers and assists in ensuring delivery to site
• Undertake maintenance and off-crop planning
• Ensure effective performance of subordinates and teams
• Comply with production and safety procedures
• Comply with the requirements of ISO and Quality Management Systems
