Enrolled Nurse - Unicare Bellville at Clicks Group

Introduction

• Unicare is looking for a Enrolled Nurse – Orthopaedic Department. This role will be based in the 24hr Pharmacy in Somerset West, Cape Town. To support the delivery of quality patient care within the orthopaedic department, in line with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) regulations, hospital policies, and patient care standards.

Job description

Job Objectives:

• Provide high quality customer service in an orthopedic department in a customer focused retail setting.
• To provide guidance and reassurance to clients regarding the use of orthopeadic rehabilitation equipment.
• To provide guidance and assist clients with fitting and advice/education on orthopedic aids such as braces, slings, and supports.
• To ensure timely stock control of customer and allocated sub-department orders orthopaedic products as per standard operating procedure.
• To attend to the wound clinic and provide professional advice on woundcare.
• To manage customer queries and complaints.
• To attend all relevant orthopaedic product training and updates. 
• To attend wound care product training and updates.
• To manage external stakeholders (Customer returns/complaints).
• To maintain excellent shelf management and department neatness/cleanliness as per standard operating procedure.
• To adhere to all health and safety and regulatory requirements within a retail pharmacy environment.

• Basic understanding of orthopaedic conditions and post-operative care

Minimum requirements

Experience:

Essential:

• At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in a hospital, clinical or retail environment
• Experience within an orthopaedic ward or surgical unit

Education:

•  Essential: Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse
•  Essential: Registered with SANC (South African Nursing Council)
• Desirable: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
