Enrolled Nurse: uThukela at TB HIV Care

Purpose of the position:

The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible the continuation of AGYW on the HIV prevention package under the direct and/ or indirect supervision of the Nurse Clinician.

Minimum Requirements    

1. Grade 12
2. Certificate in nursing from a college
3. Current registration with SANC
4. 2 years of working experience within a similar environment or any clinical setting
5. Computer literacy in the Microsoft Office package
6. Proficiency in English and isiZulu
7. Valid code 08 drivers' licence
8. Clear criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities    

1. Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders in the community, facility managers, AYFS staff, institutions of higher learning and learner representative organisations in identified clusters
2. Collaborates with Department of Basic Education (DBE), Department of Social Development (DSD), Department of Health (DOH) managers, other Government Departments, partners and community role-players
3. Maps out CBOs and community sites for continuation of HIV Prevention services including PrEP
4. Implements a diary system to ensure all AGYW initiated on HIV prevention services including PrEP are diarised
5. Conduct follow-ups to ensure continuity
6. Provides the continuity of service
7. Adheres to Infection Prevention Control (IPC) standards
8. Implements the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) protocol and ensures all staff adhere to the protocol
9. Identify victims of gender-based violence and referral for provision of minimum package of post violence care services, including HIV testing, PEP, EC, STI screening, psychosocial support, and linkage to medical forensic services 
10. Ensures appropriate navigation and referral of all new cases for psychosocial support to SAWs and Social Worker interventions
11. Facilitate package of integrated SRH services through appropriate referrals to the nurse clinician
12. Provides mentorship to HAST counsellors
13. Submits daily, weekly and monthly reports
