    Ethics and Business Integrity Lead WESA

    Main responsibilities:

    You will:

    • Be responsible for the effective implementation of Sanofi Global Ethics & Business Integrity program in WESA, across different global business units (General Medicine, Specialty Care, Sanofi Vaccines and Consumer Health Care) operating on the markets directly or through third parties.
    • Act as a strategic business partner, you will have an overview of WESA businesses, working in partnership with Management to ensure a sustainable business growth while ensuring proper Third-Party risk management.
    • Be responsible for the process of implementation of ensuring the core elements of the compliance program work as designed in WESA, including the following:
      • Implement and update of the Compliance standards, policies, procedures and processes.
      • Train and communicate as necessary or required.
      • Responsible to oversee elements of compliance activities.
      • Monitor Compliance activities regularly and periodically.
      • Reinforce compliance-related disciplinary actions occur promptly.
      • Participate in specific investigations and assessment and oversees implementation of corrective actions as necessary.
    • Identify risk areas and domains of potential vulnerabilities, inefficient or ineffective processes and cross Global Business Units teamwork with the management to optimize the processes in compliance with company’s values and ethics and business integrity principles.
    • Ensure a clear communication and understanding of EBI priorities for the Sanofi Group
    • Ensure that the implementation of global policies/standards/best practices is done timely and appropriately in WESA in compliance with local regulations and Sanofi EBI standards.
    • Ensure that EBI training, awareness and communication campaigns are deployed to the targeted audiences.
    • Steer and measures the efficacy of the EBI program in order to identify its strengths and areas of improvements, Recommend and follow action plans with the Global Business Units Heads and country chairs.
    • Work closely with local management for designing and implementing corrective actions in order to solve deviation and deficiencies, and to prevent the occurrence of similar cases in the future.
    • Provide advice in support to the business and global functions for ensuring appropriate decision making regarding their projects and initiatives. Solves complex Ethics and Business Integrity issues that may potentially have a significant impact on Company’s reputation.
    • Report potential violations of laws, regulations, rules, policies and Company’s procedures and participate to investigations on requests of the Global Ethics & Business Integrity.
    • Participate to the elaboration and implementation of specific Ethics & Business Integrity programs for country/MCO territory or for specific entities / contributes to miscellaneous Ethics & Business Integrity projects.
    • Ensure the Ethics & Integrity Committee are aware and in discussion of all matters having a major impact on Sanofi’s ethics and business integrity program in the territory of the Affiliate.
    • Provide support with projects in East and West Africa where required ( example GHU, CSR etc)

    South Africa MCO

    •  Provide support across the different global business units (General Medicine, Specialty Care, Sanofi Pasteur and CHC) in ensuring that all employees are trained on the Sanofi’s Code of Conduct, corporate requirements, and relevant SOPs. Assist in the development, organization and implementation of local training programs and content as well as measuring the effectiveness of these programs.
    •  Support Anti bribery and other relevant training for the outsourced promotion partner/s in CHC, Diabetes and Established products.

    ABOUT YOU:

    Education:

    • Higher Education (Finance, Auditing, Legal, Pharmacist, Medical, Marketing, Business)

    Experience:

    • Experience as Compliance Officer or similar position, preferably in pharmaceutical industry
    • Experience in successfully leading projects in multicultural environments and in a matrix organization
    • Knowledge of anti-corruption requirements, knowledge of pharmaceutical industry self-regulation, general knowledge of sanctions, civil (including data privacy),
    • Expertise in compliance control: Contribute to the processes and procedures that regulate, guide, and protect the organization.
    • Soft & technical skills:
      • Very good communication capabilities / strong team spirit, interpersonal and networking skills.
      • Solution-oriented.
      • High energy, tenacity and patience.
      • General understanding of accounting and finance data, being able to draw conclusions out of it
      • Good level of understanding in project management.
    • Proven ability in:
      • Change management.
      • Listening, negotiating, convincing.
      • Building and maintaining business networks.
      • Managing complex situations and conflicts.
      • Making decisions supported by clear, structured and concise explanations.
      • Working in tense emotional environment.
      • Able to operate at any level of the Sanofi organization (matrix organization)
