Executive Head: Strategic Projects And Planning at Vodacom

Role Purpose

The Executive Head: Strategic Projects and Planning role based within Commercial Operations.
The EHOD Strategic Projects and Planning leads a capable team of specialists who are responsible for leading and implementing key technology and service design projects across the Commercial Operations and larger Vodacom landscape in a seamless manner with little to no disruption to Vodacom Customers.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Set the strategy per project to ensure that there is a clear plan of what is required from each stakeholder and channel over the lifecycle of the project
• Set the change management and communication strategy per project to ensure a smooth transition as well as operational sustainability in the long term
• Identify capabilities that will be required to drive the long term Customer Experience strategy
• Assess the availability of capabilities and initiate long term projects to drive capability implementation
• Define and implement CEX and Business Analysis methodologies aligned to Vodafone Group
• Share best practice with Vodafone Group
• Establish an operating model with other executive heads to ensure end-to-end CEX implementation across channel and segment
• Organise work in line with Agile delivery methodologies
• Change Management
• Develop a stakeholder map to identify stakeholders on various Transformation Projects and initiatives
• Manage the interface between project stakeholders and business areas to secure the delivery of project outcomes and realisation of benefits whilst maintaining BAU
• Assess level on change in each business area
• Assess the impact on proposed technology and business processes changes on various business areas per project as well as for the total portfolio
• Manage the transition to new processes/technology with the operational teams

Channel Alignment

• Ensure transformation projects land smoothly across channels with minimum disruption to the channels Operations
• Manage budget and support Capex and Opex budget optimisation for strategic planning

Team Leadership and Prioritisation

• Manage pipeline and prioritise initiatives across CEX design and Business Analysis aligned to Vodafone and Vodacom CEX priorities
• Assign resources optimally across CBU, EBU and Channels
• Building effective professional relationships (both for him/herself and the team) and establishing the team’s credibility with business partners across CBU, EBU and Channels
• Managing expectations (of team and customers alike) and keeping commitments or promises.
• Succession planning for self and direct reports
• Identify individual development plans and training requirements for self and direct reports

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

• Matric / Grade 12 - Essential
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Science or Engineering is Essential
• Post graduate degree preferred
• 8 years of experience in Programme management or Business Analysis
• At least 4 years in a management/leadership position
• Strategy formulation and execution against strategy
• Leadership and management of cross-functional teams in a matrix organisation
• Programme Management with deep focus on planning and organising work, with experience in Agile delivery methodologies an advantage
• Strong expertise in influencing and change management
• Business Improvement
