Experienced CNC Turner (Port Elizabeth) at NOV

NOV Rig South Africa is seeking a highly experienced CNC Turner with Milling experience. The job included manufacturing of components / parts to required specifications and quality standards in accordance with drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions by operating a CNC Lathe and/or Conventional Lathe.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating of CNC and Conventional Lathes 
• Read and understand drawings and ensure correct drawing used for specific job
• Loading CNC lathe or manual lathe by either using an overhead crane or doing it manually.
• Ensure correct material usage
• Programming of CNC Lathe
• Identify the correct tooling for the required application
• Load and down loading of approved programmes to and from designated computer
• Be  prepared to work overtime/shifts when required
• General Maintenance of milling and / or lathe machine
• Ensuring machines are well lubricated as per the operating requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• Technical Grade 12 (N3); Qualified Turner Machinist
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a heavy engineering environment
• Must be familiar with Fanuc, Mazak and Siemens controls. Milling background would also be an advantage
• Read and understand drawings
• Being able to work under pressure
