Field Agronomist – Mpumalanga at FS Personnel Recruitment

Desired experience and qualifications:

• BSc in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, Agriculture, or related field (non-negotiable).
• 3–5 years practical, field-based agronomy experience.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (non-negotiable).
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively across the Free State.
• Hands-on, field-oriented, and confident presenting to farmers and sales teams.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

• Provide agronomic support to Technical Sales Representatives and clients through regular on-farm visits (3–4 days/week).
• Deliver expert advice on crop nutrition, soil management, and fertilisation strategies.
• Interpret soil and plant tissue analyses and develop tailored fertilisation programmes.
• Identify and troubleshoot crop issues, including nutrient deficiencies and environmental stress factors.
• Assist with field trials, demonstrations, and upskilling of sales teams.
• Work across row crops (maize, wheat, soybeans) and high-value crops (fruits and vegetables).

Starting Salary:

• R35 000 – R40 000 per month + company car, laptop, fuel, & cellphone.
