Job Description    

• Maintenance audits, planning, and execution.
• Execution of strategic engineering projects and change management.
• Development of maintenance personnel.
• People management of internal, external contractors, and professional services.
• Lead efforts to ensure continuous business improvement and technical support.
• Ensure compliance with governance and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Customer interaction and engagement to ensure customer satisfaction and business support, compliance, and growth.
• Ensure a comprehensive support structure is in place to enable an effective service to our customers.
• Assist in the rollout and completion of projects on customers’ sites.
• Coordination and control of any assistance for the Underground Bulk Systems, Portable Charging Units, and storage facilities at both international and local sites.
• Ensure maintenance personnel have the skills and ability to deliver quality service, conduct audits and report on any shortcomings, and help to remedy this.

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric / Grade 12.
• National Dimploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 -10 years experience in a UBS explosives plant environment and underground engineering leadership experience in maintenance and project management.
• Knowledge of the OHS Act, Explosive Act, and MHSA
• Extensive knowledge of project management and stakeholder relations in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Sound knowledge of the technologies used in the explosives industry.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of contract management and the provision of services.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in hazard control and risk assessments.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and standards.
• Experience in performance management and people development.
• Intermediate MS Projects.
