Honours degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent would be an advantage
Completed articles are preferred.
Professional registration with recognised a body such as CIA/CIMA/SAIBA/SAICA/SAIPA would be an advantage.

Duties
Play a support role in the completion and integration of financial aspects of the performance plans in faculties, divisions and departments.
Approve all expenditure requirements in line with budget.
Contribute to the improvement and automation of finance processes and services.
Drive the annual revenue and expenditure budget process, providing strategic and technical advice to customers.
Timeously consolidate budgets from departments into a faculty or divisional budget annually.
Assist in the preparation of University forecasts.
Monitor, analyse and interpret expenditure against budget or funding and advise on prudent budget maintenance.
Monitor the validity of expenditure against University policies and provide guidance where necessary.
Implement innovative and sustainable solutions to improve service quality and efficiency.
Develop, recommend and lead process change and long-term improvements; setting best practices standards and quality assurance within the finance support structures.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders on finance policies and other procedures that will impact on the faculties/divisions.
Identify trends which could have an impact on the faculty or divisional financial position, recommend approaches to address these and implement solutions.
Prepare and analyse ad-hoc reports as required and provide the necessary recommendations.
Constantly evaluate policies and procedures and recommend updates.
Collaborate with fellow business partners in Finance and HR to provide solutions for clients.
Provide training on the use of the systems to monitor budgets.
