Finance Manager at Pet Heaven

Role Purpose

The position will focus on developing internal policies and procedures and managing the Finance function of the company. The ideal candidate would be someone that is looking to gain exposure to the entire business and be in a position where your contributions will directly impact the improvement of the company’s performance and efficiency.

You will work directly with the CEO/GM of the company, accurately reporting on the financial position of the business to enable decision making based on findings and forecasts, help to analyse the company's cashflow, manage resources and spending and also perform a number of human resources management functions, such as assigning tasks, setting employee priorities and determining staffing requirements.

Main Duties

• Produce Financial Information and Analysis which supports the company’s strategic initiatives and facilitates progressive Performance Improvement
• Develop company Policies and Procedures in line with new group accounting system
• Develop Strategies and Planning for the long-term Financial Goals

Monthly Duties

• Lead and oversee procedural compliance by maintaining company policies and procedures
• Oversee all accounting actions including (not limited to) monthly accounting entries, reporting, cash flow, bank reconciliations, and petty cash
• Inventory management
• Cash flow management and forecasting
• Managing and developing useful financial KPIs and tools to support financial performance initiatives, focusing on growth, margin, working capital, cash flow and profitability improvements
• Cost control
• Management account reporting
• Administer employee leave schedules and requests
• Authorise payment schedules
• Create quarterly and annual budgets
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Audit preparation and audit queries
• Other ad hoc reporting and reconciliation

Job Requirements

• Must love dogs!!
• Attention to detail is an essential for this role
• Keen interest in eCommerce
• Finance degree and completed articles
• 2 years leadership experience
• Alternatively, 4 years leadership experience within the Accounting and Finance function, physically performing accounting activities (Reconciliations, journal entries, inventory management, etc.)
• A working understanding of inventory management
• Experience in Sage One or Pastel accounting is essential
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• This position is ideal for someone who likes getting into the details, is proficient at problem solving and takes instruction well

Employment Details
