Financial Accountant at Snatch.work

• A fast-growing tech company delivering innovative payment solutions is currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team in Cape Town.
• As Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of daily financial operations, statutory returns, reconciliations, and first-pass reporting across multiple entities. You’ll also manage international financial operations end-to-end. 
• This is an exciting opportunity for a driven finance professional to gain broad, hands-on experience and fast-track their growth into a Finance Manager role in a high-growth tech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily financial operations, including payment scheduling, billing runs, payroll preparation, and debtors collections.
• Prepare and reconcile statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, COIDA) for review and submission.
• Build draft management accounts, reconciliations, and variance reports to support decision-making.
• Maintain cash flow forecasts, track payout batches and float balances, and ensure reconciliations to bank accounts.
• Collect and analyse transaction cost data across payment rails, maintaining clean inputs for unit economics tracking.
• Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and act as day-to-day contact for auditors.
• Fully own international entity operations, including accounting, payroll, cash flow forecasting, and first-pass reporting.
• Support the development of BI dashboards by ensuring accuracy and cleanliness of financial data.
• Mentor junior finance staff and act as deputy to the Finance Manager when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Part-qualified or newly qualified CIMA or SAIPA
• 2-4 years’ experience in accounting, finance operations, or junior management, ideally in fintech, SaaS, payments, or other high-volume transaction environments.
• Strong experience with accounting systems (Xero or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar) is a plus.
• Comfortable executing hands-on tasks in a lean, high-ownership environment, with a growth mindset and eagerness to develop FP&A and business partnering skills.
