Freight Forwarder, Export, Air & Sea at DSV

Main Purpose of The Role:

• The main role is to export and import cargo to and from all the required SADC destinations within the metrics set for each destination. RIT shipments from port or airport to the SADC countries, manage BV inspections, Customs Clearance processes and the forwarding process.

Minimum Requirements:

• Min 5-years experience in freight forwarding.
• Must have knowledge of road import & export processes
• Knowledge of the SADC region is essential

Qualifications: 

• Matric (essential)
• Qualification in Logistics an added advantage 

Computer packages

• Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Cargowise understanding and previous experience would be beneficial

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Forwarding of cargo
• Register shipments on Cargowise
• Costing / Invoicing of files
• Actioning reports
• Actioning Queries
• Tracking
• Updating Milestones
• Liaising transporters/border agents/destination offices
• Co-ordination of movement of cargo into cross border countries
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Own reliable transport to and from work
• Perform function with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to organize work in urgency order
• Desk to be neat at all times
• Deadline is crucial and must be met
• Must be results driven and provide feedback timeously on reports
• Applying for load authority from destination
• Booking vehicles
• Submitting files to customs
• Managing the road manifest
• Sending pre alerts
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to organize work in urgency order
• Desk to be neat at all times
• Deadline is crucial and must be met
• Must be results driven and provide feedback timeously on reports
