General Assistant - Press

Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a General Assistant within the Press department. The successful incumbent will report to the Shift Leader - Press Sheetfed & Digital.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting the Printers to obtain the correct quantities of commercially acceptable printed sheets
- Assist the Printers in attending to defects
- Assist with maintenance
- Adhering to standard operating procedures
- Ad-hoc tasks include general housekeeping and general assistant duties
Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- Working experience of Offset Web Press or Sheetfed would be advantageous
- Experience in handling and preparing reels of paper would be advantageous
Skills and Competencies
- Sound communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must be prepared to work shifts including weekends
