General Manager – Yokos

Cape Town

• Lead Yokos into its next phase of profitable, reliable, and compliant growth. We’re looking for a commercially driven, sharp, and capable General Manager to own the P&L and drive performance across sales, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, retail, e-commerce, and our flagship V&A Waterfront concept bar.
• This is first and foremost a growth role. Approximately 80% of your focus will be on growing the Yokos brand, increasing sales, expanding market penetration, and building strong commercial partnerships. 
• You will be expected to actively drive revenue growth, identify and convert new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer relationships, and ensure Yokos continues to gain traction across retail, foodservice, e-commerce, and other relevant channels.

You will:

• Take primary responsibility for growing the Yokos brand and delivering ambitious sales and revenue targets.
• Drive new business development and actively pursue opportunities to expand distribution, listings, partnerships, and market share.
• Own and strengthen relationships with national retailers, key customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
• Develop and execute commercially focused growth plans across retail, e-commerce, foodservice, and the V&A Waterfront concept bar.
• Own the P&L and ensure that growth translates into sustainable profitability.
• Lead with clarity, accountability, and heart.
• Build strong teams and scalable systems that can support continued growth.
• Ensure our brand promise – conscious, plant-based, unsweetened, additive-free – is delivered from factory to shelf to spoon.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, product quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

You have:

• 7+ years’ experience in FMCG, ideally within food manufacturing and chilled products.
• A strong commercial and sales track record, with demonstrated success in growing brands, revenue, distribution, and market share.
• Established experience working with major South African retailers and key commercial accounts.
• Full P&L and cross-functional leadership experience.
• Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
• HACCP training and food safety experience.
• A degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or a relevant commercial discipline.
