    Graduate Trainee - Budget & Programming , Johannesburg,

    Overview

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the following disciplines: Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
    • Qualification's must have been obtained within the previous year (2022) or current year (2023) with an academic average of at least 75%.

    • Language:  Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station (English).  Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese will be an added advantage.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

    • Support in the development and implementation of budget plans, policies and procedures for budgeting activities, including consolidation
    • Create and review budget plans and monitor ongoing performance against the budget, ensuring adherence to guidance and policies.
    • Provide financial analysis to allow for optimisation in the utilisation of resources.
    • Ensure correct budget documentation is available in internal systems for reference, in line with WFP standards and procedures
    • Update Pipeline Management Report on a weekly or monthly basis and disseminate to key stakeholders
    • Prepare funding proposals, providing scenarios that assure the best use of incoming resources, estimates on the number of beneficiaries to be assisted with each funding opportunity and the duration of assistance.
    • Ensure donor contributions are programmed in accordance with WFP rules and regulations and donor conditions
    • Monitors and guides the Country Office Management and team on funds utilisation, deadlines for unassigned and unspent funds, flags potential resource shortfalls or surpluses and proposes solutions to guarantee the optimal use of available resources.
    • Support in the development and implementation of budget plans, policies and procedures for budgeting activities, including consolidation 
    • Perform other related duties as required.
