    Graduate Trainee - Evaluation, Johannesburg

    Overview

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the following disciplines:  Programme (Monitoring and) Evaluation, Research Methods, Applied Statistics, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology or related fields.
    • Qualification's must have been obtained within the previous year (2022) or current year (2023) with an academic average of at least 75%.   
    • The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must be recognised by https://www.whed.net/home.php)
    • Language:  Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station (English).  Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese will be an added advantage.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

    • Evaluation data and evidence visualization and communication:
    • Participate in training/capacity development for storifying evaluation for evidence use.
    • Participate in communication activities designed to disseminate and promote evaluation.
    • Support in the development of communication and knowledge management products extracted from evaluation findings. 
    • Evaluation evidence use experimentation and measurement:
    • Identify evidence needs for country strategic programme (CSP) design and ensure adequate planning, tracking and documenting evidence use during the CSP implementation. 
    • Contribute to tracking management responses to evaluation recommendations and their results.
    • Support in drafting evaluation or evidence summaries and briefs
    • Produce evaluation evidence summaries for use in decision-making.
    • Contribute to producing summaries of evaluation evidence. 
    • Support document case studies, lessons learned, and best practices demonstrating evidence and results of the implementation of the actions against evaluation recommendations
    • Supporting country offices in data collection, cleaning, and tabulating:
    • Participate in secondary data analyses and reporting to inform the design of outsourced decentralized evaluations. 
    • Participate in the collection of visual data and evidence for use in evaluation communication.
    • In collaboration with Evaluation team members, produce preliminary analyses of existing datasets to decision-making.
    • Perform other related duties as required.
