Graduate Trainee - Strategic Partnerships & Innovative Finance, Johannesburg at World Food Programme

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the following disciplines: Economics, Development Economics, Finance, Business or related fields.
• Qualification's must have been obtained within the previous year (2022) or current year (2023) with an academic average of at least 75%.   
• The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must be recognised by https://www.whed.net/home.php)
• Language:  Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station (English).  Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese will be an added advantage.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

• Conduct research and analysis of international financial institutions’ (IFIs) geography-linked and thematic funding opportunities in areas related to WFP’s work and prepare advisory briefs.
• Contribute to designing and implementing innovative financing solutions such as blended finance and co-financing.
• Contribute towards analysis of national Governments’ processes on economic development planning, budgeting, and resource mobilization.
• Support engagements with national Governments on project ideation, design, and resource mobilization.
• Conduct analysis on national debt positions and explore opportunities for debt swaps.
• Explore opportunities for application of innovative climate finance solution to opportunities and challenges facing countries in the region.
• Contribute to building a knowledge bank for the SPIF team and support knowledge dissemination within the Regional Bureau and with Country Offices. 
• Perform other related duties as required.
