    GRMS Claims Coordinator

    The Role 

    • Assist And Provide Support In The Handling / Coordination Of The MRG Claims On A Day-To-Day Basis.

    Reporting

    • Receive New Claims From The Servicing Brokers And Report To Insurers/Reinsurers Where Required In Terms Of The Claims Protocol And As Instructed By The Claims Manager.
    • Copy GRML With All Claims Correspondence And Adhere To The Rules Of The Claims Protocol Agreement.
    • Attend To Requests And Special Reports From GRML As Required And Hold Telephonic Discussions With Them As Needed.
    • Advise Deputy Managing Director Of Any Unusual Claims’ Circumstances Where The Clients Risk Management Appears To Be Lacking.

    Administration

    • Receive Claims And Acknowledge/Correspond With The Servicing Brokers.
    • Read E-Mails From The Servicing Brokers From All Branches, And Deal With The Correspondence By Writing To The Brokers And Or GRML/Insurers As Required.
    • Maintain The Diary System And Ensure That The Diary Is Attended To Regularly Within The Claims Department.
    • Review The Reserves On The Claims Stats And Be Watchful Of Any Errors Made By The Brokers During Updating Of The Claims On The SIGMA System.
    • Assist In The Preparation Of The Outstanding Claims Schedules For The Broker Liaison Meetings. 
    • Attend Staff Meetings And Other Meetings As Required.
    • Provide GRML With The Necessary Information And Updates On Non-Motor Claims Recoveries And Other Claims Updates When Requested.

    Checking & Authorising

    • Appoint Loss Adjusters Or Allow The Appointment Of Loss Adjusters By The Servicing Brokers In Terms Of The Claims Protocol.
    • Provide Assistance And Follow Ups On SASRIA Claims To Ensure Prompt Settlement.
    • Deal With Any Claims From The Brokers Marked “URGENT” Within 48 Hours Of Receipt By Forwarding To GRML And Chasing Them For Urgent Authorization.
    • Ensure That Claims Have Been Authorized By GRML Prior To Brokers Being Allowed To Request Payment On The SIGMA System.
    • Provide Assistance With Problematic Motor Claims When Required.
    • Deal With Any Queries That May Arise From The Claims Statistics Staff Member In Her Role Dealing With The Statistical Side Of Claims.
    • Discuss And Agree Any Special Payment Requests With GRML In Respect Of Extremely Urgent Payments That Fall Outside The Normal Weekly Payment Arrangements.

    Relationship Management

    • Maintain Good Relationships With Servicing Brokers, MRG Members, GRML, Colleagues, Senior Management And Service Providers Including IT.
    • Communicate, Negotiate And Meet With The Servicing Brokers, Loss Adjusters And Attorneys On Larger And Problematic Losses Together With The Claims Manager Where Required.
    • Deal With Queries That May Arise From The MRG Members Directly

    Qualifications

    The Requirements 

    • At Least 10 Years’ Experience In A Role Of Managing Claims Of Corporate Entities. Claims Handling Of Assets, Liabilities, Commercial Crime, And Other Classes Are Required.
    • Insurance Qualification Or An ACII Is Essential.
    • Having Established Relationships With The Markets And Loss Adjusters Will Be A Huge Advantage.
    • Building And Maintain Relationships Is A Key Requirement.
    • Ability To Work Under Pressure, Accountability And Fast Learner
