    Group Finance Manager - Fixed Term Contract

    THE ROLE

    A JSE listed entity specialisng in morden workplace solutions is seeking a CA(SA), + 3 years post articles experience, with experience in Finacial Accounting at a corporate level to fufil the function of a Group Financial Manager for a 6 months fixed term contract.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of 3 -5 years post articles experience
    • Revelant Bachelors Degree
    • Must be registered as a CA(SA)
    • Experience in financial forecasting and management reporting

    PROCESS

    • Collaborate with the Group Finance Executive in respect of operationalising the global long, medium and short-term financial strategy in its entirety and translating this into budgetary planning and reporting that facilitates the maximization of return on investment, revenue growth, margin growth, profitability and cost efficiency;
    • Critical areas of responsibility include the optimization and operationalisation of treasury, finance, tax, administration, internal audit and risk (assurance).
    • Provide accurate and timely financial information, reports and analysis.
    • Managing the day to day running of the Centre’s finance and manage the preparation of financial information to segment leadership.
    • Report on and analyse Centre financial performance against budget providing forecasts on performance, highlighting trends and flagging potential issues.
    • Provide executive management within the Centre with advice on the financial implications of business activities, and provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations, including cost/benefit analysis.
    • Maintain and review Capex forecasts requests for the Centre.
    • Provide input into the data model design to ensure cost allocation is possible for all required dimensions and levels of granularity.
    • Conduct detailed reviews and investigation of variance analysis schedules and preparations of summary review documents to be used for the monthly Management review.
    • Assist with the review of reports on Segment’s actual performance and consolidate the monthly submissions by Segments for the monthly Management and Board packs.
    • Manage production of monthly Adcorp relevant management accounts pack and ad hoc reports to internal customers.
    • Assist with managing and maintaining the group standard chart of accounts.
    • Validate, check and reconcile planning, budgeting and forecasting data.
    • Work collaboratively with Head of Reporting in the preparation of consolidated Group results, including assistance with preparation of Integrated Annual Report.
    • Assist the Head of Reporting with the preparation of financial information to BOD and Audit Committee.
    • Perform periodic and year end closing, in coordination with the concerned departments/divisions, including periodic IFRS financial statements for external and internal reporting including the processes supporting these.
    • Provide technical guidance to the local finance functions on IFRS issues, disclosure items, new accounting standards and complex accounting matters.
    • Review current process or methods of collecting and consolidating financial information to identify areas of improvement.
    • Establish communication and rapport building with Segment Finance Executives and other stakeholders, to ensure financial information fits business needs and maintains high quality/integrity.

    CUSTOMER

    • Work collaboratively within the segment to ensure compliance to all policies and procedures.
    • Work closely with the Group Tax team to ensure compliance with legislation.
    • Work with Group Business Services to ensure production of accurate and timely information related to the Segment.
    • Work collaboratively within the segment and provide support to the Segment team.
    • Work collaboratively with other finance teams across the business and with Group Business Services to ensure that the GBS SLA's are met.

    FINANCE

    • Financial Reporting, both Management Accounting and Annual Financial Statements;
    • Assist with reporting at the consolidation level of the Adcorp Group of Companies;
    • Prepare subsidiary financial statements on an annual basis:
    • Prepare information for other stakeholders as required (e.g. SARS, SARB, Stats SA etc.);
    • Assist in drafting various accounting and corporate governance policies;
    • Assist in ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for complex issues inter alia:
    • Forex transalations; Derivative and hedge accounting documentation; Revenue recognition and related cut off; Related party disclosure; PPE and intangible asset useful life and residual value review; Share based payment accounting, monitoring and review; Lease classification, accounting and disclosure; Financial instruments;
    • Assist in performing valuations and goodwill impairment assessments.
    • Contribute to ensure adherence with financial requirements stemming from the JSE Listing Requirements and the Companies Act.
    • Be involved in assessing the tax implications of complex business transactions.

    PEOPLE
