Job Description    

• Develop and execute the company's M&A strategy in alignment with senior management's objectives.
• Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, conducting financial analysis, valuations, and due diligence.
• Prepare comprehensive business cases, including acquisition proposals, disposals, and joint ventures.
• Lead negotiations with potential targets, ensuring optimal deal structures and favourable terms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to facilitate seamless transaction execution and integration.
• Manage relationships with external advisors, such as investment banks, legal counsel, and other relevant parties.
• Oversee the due diligence process, ensuring thorough analysis of financial, legal, operational, and market aspects.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the progress of M&A activities.
• Drive post-acquisition integration efforts, working closely with the Integration Manager to achieve synergies and value creation.
• Foster effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and managing expectations throughout the M&A process.

Qualifications & Experience    

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. CA(SA) qualification preferred
• CFA qualification beneficial.
• 5-8 years’ experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance, transaction services, or private equity, with a focus on end-to-end M&A deal execution.
• Strong financial acumen and proficiency in financial analysis, valuation, and modelling.
• Demonstrated ability to manage strategic M&A plans and transactions, including deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, and integration.
• Experience in reviewing and evaluating draft acquisitions, disposals, and joint venture business cases.
• Proven track record of navigating complex negotiations, performing strategic analyses, and driving successful business transactions.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple M&A projects simultaneously
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
• Sound knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to M&A transactions.
