CTP Cartons and Labels have an exciting opportunity for Guillotine Operator to join the Raw Materials team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for setting up and operating the guillotine to ensure products are cut accurately according to customer specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity.
Job Requirements:
Set up and operate the guillotine in accordance with production requirements and work ticket specifications.
Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
Read and interpret work tickets, cutting instructions, and production documentation.
Perform accurate measuring, cutting, and trimming of board.
Maximise productivity while minimising waste, downtime, and machine stoppages.
Conduct routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
Report machine faults or quality concerns promptly to the relevant supervisor.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
Comply with all quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Assist with operating the sheeter machine as required by production demands.
Work collaboratively with production staff to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
Minimum Skills Requirements:
Grade 12 certificate or NQF Level 4 qualification.
1–2 years' experience operating an industrial guillotine machine in a manufacturing or printing environment.
Previous experience operating a sheeter machine will be advantageous.
Forklift licence will be an advantage
Technical aptitude with the ability to understand machine settings and adjustments.
Ability to accurately read measurements and follow production specifications in relation to printed and unprinted substrates
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to meet production targets and performance standards.
Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team.
Willingness to work overtime and shifts when operational requirements demand.
