Hardware Engineer (Defense/Aerospace) at Black Pen Recruitment

Requirements

• B.Eng. degree
• Experience in Hardware and Firmware development engineering
• 2 to 5 years experience with Ni LabView or Veristand
• Experience in Altium Designer (Schematic design tools), C programming language and Python
• Experience in automating test instruments and verification of tests
• Experience in source code control and issue tracking
• Understanding of communication protocols and buses (CAN, ModBus, TCP-IP, UDP, RS-232, GPIB)
• Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuits (sensors, digital signal processing, etc.)
• Sound knowledge of development processes
• Sound verbal and written communication and report writing skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work across the spectrum of diverse personalities and cultures
• Delivery driven, energetic and flexible

Desirables:

• Certifications in Ni LabView or Veristand
• Previous work experience in the aeronautical environment
• Any experience in FPGA / VHDL
• Knowledge of or experience in RF

Responsibilities

• Working with leading edge technologies
• Planning and drafting specifications and designs and then developing test jigs, test hardware and/or firmware
• Maintaining and automation of tests / test jigs
• Maintaining company test standards and requirements
• Being a team player yet able to work individually when required
• Holding a strong attention to detail and being quality and specification driven
• Guide, coach and teach your peers where necessary
