Head Legal: Transactional Banking at Absa

Job Summary

Our CIB Legal business has an exciting role for a Head of Legal Transactional Banking which will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Legal Function in CIB pertaining to Trade and working capital, cash management and investor services.

Job Description

In this role you will work closely with Transactional Banking Legal Teams ensure that the Legal function provides effective legal support and legal risk management of CIB Services and products. You will also work closely with the CIB General Counsel on all aspects of Legal Risk Management in the cluster business unit.

This role is suited to a candidate with a B-degree in Law, Admitted attorney or Advocate. Preferably a Post Graduate diploma or Masters Degree in Banking, Corporate or Commercial Law as well as 8-10 years or more relevant experience as an in-house legal counsel in a financial institution, other corporate, in a reputable law firm or at the Bar.
