    Head of Agile Acceleration & Digital Business Practices

    Job Description

    The Personal Investing Business is entering its third year of Digital Transformation. The Head of Agile Acceleration and Digital Business Practices is responsible for maturing the current agile delivery and business practices across Personal Investing, reporting directly to its CIO

    The position will be responsible

    • For fostering a strong partnership across the business by identifying value and necessary changes for different business stakeholders.
    • He/ She is a passionate believer in agile talent, practices and methodologies and has the maturity, passion and skills to
    • change culture in the organization for a broader and sustainable adoption for this practice. In short, the role will provide thought leadership, mentorship, influence, and hands-on engagement in order to continue to evolve and scale, a Personal Investing (and enterprise) wide long-term strategic Agile delivery.
    • The position will build upon the current capabilities, methods and talent toward the maturing of a high-performance model that leverages common platforms, procedures, standards and best-in-class practices to support PI.
    • A key aspect of this position will be team building and fostering the talent caliber of the Agile Acceleration and Digital Business
    • Practices organization including the Agile Coach and Scrum Master practices through recruiting, training, mentorship, and actively rewarding and recognizing individual staff.


    Key Responsibilities Include

    • Develops and owns the agile delivery roadmap for the business, ensuring technology and business become a clear, integral part of the product and service development strategy and planning process.
    • Evolves and matures business practices, structures and tools including measurement framework, planning and prioritization practices, business requirements and business forums (Business Reviews, Big Room Planning, Associate Advisory Council).
    • Mentors and develops the talent across a team of over 200 agile professionals, with a focus on increasing associate mobility and growth.
    • Creates a high-performing team with dedicated and shared expertise where duplication can be eliminated, innovation and technological capabilities are fostered and shared. Collaborates with senior leadership to communicate the digital business strategy across the organization in a clear, concise thoughtful way to inspire confidence and build support for and achieve results.
    • Creates standards for consistent methodology deployment. Provides outside-in view and identifies and integrates external best practices. Creates metrics and performance transparency via dashboards and other tools and reports consistently and frequently around that. Aligns roadmap with enterprise-wide technology standards to leverage efficiencies across the organization.
    • Appropriately balances PI-specific operations with global virtual teams, augmented and supported by internal stakeholder support and potential third parties.


    Candidate Profile

    • The successful candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in progressive agile delivery orchestration efforts and roles, with 10 or more years of senior leadership experience managing multiple, matrixed, cross-functional teams or initiatives, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders. It is important for this person to have the ability to prioritize leadership themes/goals, and to focus and inspire an organization to achieve them.
    • Strong leadership characteristics are essential which include good interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and integrity. From a cultural perspective, Fidelity Investments is an open, informal and non-bureaucratic company that fosters entrepreneurial initiative. Relevant experience in the Financial Services/ Fintech industry is preferred but not required. Candidates should be business-oriented technology leaders with experience leading and managing large scale programs, similar in scope and complexity to Fidelity Investments PI breadth, exhibiting an innovative and results oriented approach.
    • The successful candidate must have a customer-centric and highly collaborative orientation and be a proven developer and implementer of strategic and operational plans to meet both short- and long-term objectives.
    • The successful candidate must have demonstrated academic success in his/her undergraduate career.
    • A bachelor’s degree is required, andan advanced degree is preferred.
