Head of Innovation at Kemin Industries

In this position, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing all innovation projects in the Kemin Sub Saharan Africa portfolio. You will be responsible for as a management representative of the Kemin quality management system and well as responsible for ensuring product compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will provide leadership to professionals in the field of innovation, quality and regulatory affairs. You play a crucial role as part of the leadership team in putting together strategic directions and guiding the business to success. You will provide mentoring and development of all team members, play a role in resource allocation, prioritization and decision making.

Responsibilities

• As part of the leadership team, providing strategic inputs for Kemin’s mid- and long-term goals in the field of innovation, quality and regulatory affairs.
• Ensuring alignment between innovation, quality, regulatory efforts and our customer and market needs and expectations.
• Development of products and services in the area of customer and product innovation.
• Managing a diverse team of research professionals.
• Providing team members with continuous scientific input in various areas.
• Ensuring a high standard of scientific quality output.
• Promoting a quality mindset across the entire company.
• Directing and guiding the company towards a FAMI-QS certification.
• Directing and overseeing the product registration process and providing strategic inputs on regulatory environment changes to the leadership team.
• Executing the departments worldwide key performance indicators.

Qualifications

• PhD in Science
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing people and a lab.
• Analytical mind and drive for execution.
• Passion for serving customers and business priorities.
• Project management skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in Englishs
• Must be able to speak effectively in front of a large group.
• Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well.
• Team player.
• Self-motivator.
