In-House Corporate Counsel (Full Time, Remote) at VeraSafe

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about a cutting-edge, in-demand, high-tech area of international law and find creative solutions to in-house legal issues. This is a fully remote role, so you can work from any appropriate location with a good Internet connection. We’ll collaborate closely (you won’t feel like you’re working in isolation) and you’ll help guide VeraSafe through its next stage of company growth. You will report directly to the VeraSafe General Counsel in the United States.

Responsibilities Include:

• Drafting, updating, and negotiating client and vendor agreements
• Advising management on legal compliance risks and requirements
• Lead the effort to occasionally setup new legal entities in various jurisdictions, and enable those subsidiaries to hire employees locally
• Overseeing the execution of corporate governance and tax formalities
• Maintaining and adding to an internal library of in-house legal templates
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating organizational legal risks
• Performing a variety of other legally oriented tasks and duties as assigned

What We Need from You

Required:

• 3+ years of work experience practicing corporate law
• Admitted to practice law
• Team player, interested in contributing to a growing enterprise
• Willingness to learn new skills and receive direction and feedback from management
• Excited about working remotely
• Willingness to pursue privacy law certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM)
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

• 5+ years of work experience as practicing corporate or commercial law at a law firm or in-house
• Previous contract drafting and negotiation experience strongly preferred
• Experience, training, or certification in one of the following areas: IT security, computer programming, web development, MIS/CIS, or other technology field
