    Industry Sales Representative & Application Specialist

    Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job: 

    • Management of territory accounts including achieving or exceeding sales targets of allocated territory/product ranges/services, with focus on driving business revenue with existing customer and driving growth through new customer acquisition.

    Main Accountabilities:  

    • Identifying and securing new customers with recurring business opportunities.
    • Management of existing accounts by building and maintaining strong customer relationships to promote instrumentation, reagents and service sales.
    • Identifying and securing cross-selling opportunities at existing customer sites.
    • By ensuring a sufficient number of visits to customers based on customer value management (cmv) principles, respecting the “norm” or objectives set in the territory.
    • By ensuring customer satisfaction by leading/facilitating cooperative and efficient interaction between departments, including liaising with corporate account manager(s), business development manager(s), application specialist(s) and product manager(s).
    • While respecting the basics of the bioMérieux sales excellence principles.
    • Execute the sales strategy as agreed with sales manager and report on sales, activities and territory performance as required by the organization.
    • Build and maintain sales pipeline to ensure that the designated area achieves sales targets, and sustainable growth is retained, specifically to bring value proposition level sales to customers.
    • Update and maintain customer relations management (CRM) software with activities and customer information as per the company objectives & marketing strategy.
    • Prepare quotations, proposals, tenders, negotiate prices within the limits of authority.
    • Actively monitor market and competitor trends through contacts with customers, key accounts, key opinion leaders, and attendance at association meetings and seminars.
    • Close collaboration with local marketing manager to feedback information from the field on trends.
    • Assist with technical enquiries for install base within (but not limited to) sales area.
    • Ensure sales activities comply with the legal and ethical standards of the subsidiary and holding company.
    • Typical Studies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

    Studies-Experience:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business in related fields. Knowledge of bioMérieux product ranges/services/solutions and Sales strategy, Food and Pharmaceutical market and competition understanding beneficial.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated sales experience and ability to carry out strategic selling practices / needs determination in customer interactions.

    Hunter mindset.

    • Sales results oriented and integration of the selling process and sales tools.
    • Must be able to work independently with >80% of the time in the field.
    • Must be able to travel locally and overseas.
    • Must have a strong motivation towards customer satisfaction and service excellence.
    • Legal driver’s license.
    • computer literacy with ability to navigate Microsoft apps, CRM software (salesforce).
    • Very good organization, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
    • Professional interaction with both internal & external customers.
    • Team spirit.

    Location:  Based in Cape Town Region

    Territory:  Primarily Western & Eastern Cape with some national accounts (Gauteng Region)

    Travel: Cape Town based 60-70% of the time, once per month Eastern Cape & Gauteng Travel. Ability to travel both locally & internationally when required.
