Inventory Controller (Spare parts) at AECI Limited

Job Description

• Be the interface between suppliers and other relevant departments.
• Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified quality, costs and lead times.
• Track and trace open purchase orders and outstanding quotations.
• Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
• Update the procurement management systems and proactively escalate system update issues.
• Drive continuous cost saving initiative through alternate sourcing and strong negotiations.
• Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews.
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships.
• Prepare reports and updates as and when required
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards.
• Support continual business improvement and change management.
• Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices.
• Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Procurement
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in spare parts stores
• A broad knowledge of engineering operations and safety requirements
• Technical knowledge of engineering components
• A detailed knowledge of commercial requirements and systems, specifically applicable to the compiling and administration of major contracts and commercial law
• SAP knowledge preferred
• Excellent understanding of Safety & Health requirements
• Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to write reports
