    Inventory Manager | Renal Dialysis

    • A vacancy exists for an Inventory Manager based at Life Healthcare Head Office in Dunkeld reporting to the Regional Head of Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the supply chain and inventory throughout the Life Renal Dialysis units, ensuring that stock related standards, objectives and targets are met.

    Critical Outputs
    Effective product management      

    • Drive optimal pharmaceutical procurement and formulary compliance in line with standardized procurement agreements to reduce cost of care. Identify and share additional cost saving opportunities with all stakeholders.

    Effective asset management          

    • Drive the effective management of pharmaceutical stock in Life Renal Dialysis to achieve inventory targets.
    • Ensure relevant and up to date standard operating procedures for stock management.
    • Drive compliance to standard operating procedures to ensure financial governance and security of stock.
    • Drive optimal system utilization with appropriate benchmarking and sharing of best practice

    Effective financial management       

    • Contribute to the effective management of all factors affecting pharmaceutical cost of sales aligned to budgets.
    • Actively drive the achievement of financial measures relating to inventory in terms of budgeted stockholding and targeted stock days with minimal stock adjustments and stock write offs.
    • Ensure the effective management of the procure to pay process relating to pharmaceutical stock with implementation and alignment to company best practice.

    Effective utilization of stock management reports

    • Review and share group stock management reports on a daily / weekly / monthly basis as a preventative measure and drive timeous close out of corrective actions.
    • Complete monthly / quarterly trends analysis with relevant improvement actions

    Effective QMS and stock safety management            

    • Drive 100% reporting of inventory incidents (e.g. pilferage / product complaints)
    • Drive 100% reporting of supplier out of stock alerts and supplier delivery challenges Complete a trends analysis monthly / quarterly for escalation to procurement and other relevant stakeholders.

    Effective relationships and people management        

    • Build effective working relationships with clinic staff and supporting functions
    • Ensure effective communication of all relevant inventory or system (FIORI) information and sharing of best practice with all stakeholders.
    • Provide SAP FIORI and relevant stock management training to new recruits responsible for stock management in Life Renal Dialysis.
    • Actively participate in the final selection of stock controller recruits.
    • Motivate and develop stock control / inventory management staff according to LHC HR policies and practices.
    • Provide direction and inspire positive work behavior amongst all team members.

    Requirements

    • Gr 12 National Certificate
    • Relevant Degree (B. Comm) or diploma in Supply Change Management
    • A working knowledge of the SAP Materials Management system is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of inventory control processes, procedures and practices.
    • Experience in a management role within an inventory management/logistics environment.
    • People management experience is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills as effective working relationships with LRD staff and external customers are critical.
    • Sound financial and numeric skills and business acumen.
    • Computer proficiency with advanced Excel skills
    • Driver’s license and ability to travel
