IS Functional Analyst at Puma Energy

• Owns the IT Functional Applications developed as a core model and acts as custodian of the underlying process presenting the standard to business and drive Adoption-over-Adaptation
• Works closely with Business Units to understand business environment, stakeholders, processes, rules, business requirements, problems, opportunities, IT solution usage and solution requirements and models these back to the existing application landscape
• Articulates all of the above for both business and IT using whatever means appropriate and in line with internal Business Analysis and Delivery standards.
• Works with Global Leads to understand Global policies and procedures, and align Regional business and IT units with these from a Solution Delivery perspective.
• Works directly with Core Solution Delivery team to facilitate delivery of the solution.
• Works with IT Leads to develop and work towards strategic IT goals.
• Works with Business Unit Leads to understand strategic business goals.
• Works with IT and Business Leads to align Strategic Business and IT Goals and translate these into key initiatives required for the functional applications
• Models business and functional solution aspects for relevant Business Units and IT Solutions, aligning to internal Delivery standards, and utilizing internal Delivery BPM/EA tools and methodologies
• Compiles, and assists with compilation of, any other documentation or models required to adequately convey environment, stakeholders, processes, rules, business requirements, problems, opportunities, policies, procedures, goals and objectives, IT solution usage and solution requirements while maintaining custodianship of the Core Model principle of Adopt-over-Adapt.
• Provides Global Business and IT Leads with full visibility of work in progress and outputs as required.
• Provides Global Business and IT Leads with reports relating to Functional Application activity as required.
• Extracts knowledge and expertise from Business and IT stakeholders and contributes to creation and maintenance of knowledge repositories.
• Works with Global Business Functional Lead to align Analysis outputs with Global Models.
• Conducts meetings, workshops and presentations as required to facilitate Business Analysis and overall Solution Delivery.
• Provide and drive Value Realization of the Core Model throughout the global business units.

Training

• Proactively assists in identification and delivery of training requirements on projects.
• Works with Training and Change Leads to address training requirements.

Project Management

• Fulfills role of Project Manager for projects without a dedicated Project Manager, and assists Project Manager on projects with a dedicated Project Manager.
• Follows assigned project through from original concept through to value realization.
• Assists definition of project scope and objectives.
• Creates and maintains product road maps, and backlog with prioritized initiatives/stories.
• Participates in continuous refinement of the backlog to ensure sufficient work is ready for consumption by the delivery team.
• Participates in regular planning, including estimations for backlog items, sprint planning and reviews, and regular reporting to ensure all stakeholders are adequately informed of progress.
• Ensures that obstacles are identified and resolved immediately, and provides full visibility of any obstacles and risks to other team members as well as the leadership team.
• Plans and conducts project meetings as required.
  • Meets with project team(s) regularly to review project deliverable and targets.
  • Meets with appropriate personnel for periodic reviews of prototypes and final products.
• Provides single point of contact for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates interaction and communication among project team.
  • Identifies resource requirements to meet project requirements.
• Conducts Retrospective Reviews to ensure lessons learnt are addressed and adjustments incorporated into subsequent iterations.

Leadership and Development

• Collaborates with all business and IT units to achieve strategic, tactical and project goals.
• Provides leadership needed to instill a team-oriented, client- and results-driven environment.

Supervision

• Reports directly to the Global IT Delivery Lead

Key Responsibilities

The analyst will be the custodian of the solution core model and drive adoption of the platform throughout the global enterprise by supporting business in analyzing and clearly modelling the business process, and guiding the IT delivery team throughout delivery to update existing or add new functional aspects of the solution, and then support the business through acceptance testing
