Java Developer (IT08) at University of the Witwatersrand

Brief Description        
Main Purpose:

• The main purpose of this position/job is to provide intermediate level technical skill in the applications developed in the Java/Spring Framework technologies in the Java team. Developments will be aligned with business requirements of the University compatible with existing systems and aligned with the Wits ICT Enterprise Architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

•       Develop solutions based on agreed functional specification and system design aligned with standards.
•       Produce system design documentation.
•       Participate in group sessions where analysis of problems and identification of solutions are identified.

Requirements:

•       A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the role of Applications Developer in the Java Spring Framework environment.
•       High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferences:

•       IT Diploma/Degree
•       SQL Certification
•       Java Certification
•       Demonstrated proven ability to develop solutions in the Java Spring Framework
• Demonstrated experience working in a university or higher education environment and an awareness of the uses of ICT within universities.
