Join Lactalis SA at our Bonnievale Plant in the Cheese Laboratory department with the main responsibilities is to ensure that all samples are received and analysed according to sampling schedules in the laboratory. Generate reports and give daily reporting to Lab Manager and production wrt results. Successful candidates need to have at least 2 year’s experiences in in a chemical and or micro laboratory within FMCG environment and must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of food quality and full adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate (advance excel skills and MS Office).

A Qualification in Food Technology/Food Laboratory Analysis
At least 2 years' practical experience in a chemical and or micro laboratory.

Duties & Responsibilities
Take ATP/hand swabs and do air plate sampling in production facilities to verify hygiene as per Control Plan.
Conduct accurate tests on samples, according to working instructions.
Setting up, calibrating, maintaining and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
Record sample information and test results accurately.
Analysing results to ensure consistency to specifications and ensure that all required retests are done timeously.
Perform reference testing for NIR and IR equipment.
Assist production teams with RCA’s.
Perform product releases following internal release criteria.
Participate in SRM (Secondary Reference Material) and PT (Proficiency Testing).
Participate in corrective/preventative action activities relating to failure of Quality Controls and non-conforming results.
Capture results (final products, water, pathogens) on QMS and Excel trending files.
Maintain updated Floor-Maps per department for Pathogen trending.
Maintain Good Laboratory Practices with respect to ISO 17025 standard.
Maintain Good Housekeeping in the Lab and outside the Lab.
Work according to and promote Food safety (participate in Internal Audits), Continuous Improvement and NOSA standards.
