Job Description
The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to provide analytics support and data insights to the Claims Procurement department. This includes, but is not limited to:
Build and maintain management reports/dashboards (SQL, Visual Studio and Power BI)
Build and maintain cube models (Power BI/Excel PowerPivot/Analysis services)
Assist with once-off data analyses and queries relating to the claims supply chain
Build and maintain internal data-driven automations (SQL/internally developed apps)
Document and formalise key data processes and models to ensure a robust data analytics framework
Build, maintain and improve predictive models to support business objectives including:
Work allocation models
Performance management models
Audit models
Skills and Competencies:
Must have a passion for working with data and numbers
SQL skills are essential
Solid written/verbal communication skills to deliver data insights to business stakeholders
Should have a strong affinity towards coding and designing robust solutions
Must be a team player
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Matric
Degree in Data Analytics / Data Science / Statistics / Business Intelligence / Business Analytics / Data Mining / Actuarial Science
Other commerce/science-related degrees will be considered, but the candidate must have a good coding background
Coding experience beneficial – especially SQL
Experience in an analytics role beneficial
A good academic track record
Solid interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside operations and IT
