Junior Cattle Laboratory Technician: Roodewal, Bloemfontein at FS Personnel Recruitment

Desired experience and qualifications:

• Grade 12
• BSc Agri / Science / Genetics / Forensics – non-negotiable requirement.
• Relevant work experience advantageous, but not essential.
• Knowledge or exposure to cattle farming
• Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English (fluent in Afrikaans)
• Strong administrative, counting, and accuracy skills
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport – essential due to location.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Perform laboratory testing and sample processing related to cattle genetics
• Handle, label, record, and track biological samples accurately
• Capture and maintain data with a high level of precision
• Assist with DNA-related processes and general lab procedures
• Ensure all lab equipment is clean, maintained, and used correctly
• Follow strict laboratory protocols and quality control standards
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding samples and results
• Assist with general administrative duties within the laboratory
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Support the team during high-volume periods, including overtime when required
