Junior Data Analyst at KPMG South Africa

The purpose of this role is:

• To assist the Data and Analytics Centre to execute the ETL of data required to develop data models to perform analytics and communicate the results to Audit teams to enhance audit quality.

Key job duties or responsibilities:

•   Perform the Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) of data from various sources.
•   Troubleshooting and debugging of ETL components used including SQL stored procedures to resolve ETL errors.
•   Provide quality assurance over imported data.
•   Design and develop data models for analytics purposes.
•   Querying data sets with T-SQL.
•   Basic operational support for Data and Analytics solutions including database administration, database backup and restore.
•   Document working papers to document the processes followed to perform ETL, data quality assurance and data analytics results.

Qualifications and experience

•   Senior Certificate with matric exemption.
•   Data and/ or analytics related certification/ degree in engineering and/ or computer science will be beneficial.
•   Good command of the MS Office suite.
•   Understanding of MS SQL Server and T-SQL language, Alteryx, PowerBI and PowerQuery will be beneficial.
•   Certifications related to MS SQL Server and/ or Alteryx will be beneficial.
•   Understanding of data modelling methods and standards.
•   Basic understanding of data management concepts.
