Job Description

• Junior Geologist supports geological mapping, sampling, and data analysis to contribute to mineral exploration and resource evaluation projects. This entry-level role involves fieldwork, laboratory tasks, and reporting under senior supervision, ensuring compliance with South African mining regulations (e.g., MHSA) and company HSE protocols. 
• Junior Geologist assists with geological surveys, sample collection, and reporting to aid resource evaluation and exploration. The position suits recent graduates with a geology degree, focusing on hands-on tasks under supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum BSc Hons in Geology
• Masters or doctorate level qualifications would be advantageous 
• Other relevant training such as vocational or course-based Exploration/Economic Geology preferred. 

Experience: 

• 2-3 years of geology-related experience.
• Mineral Systems Frameworks experience preferred.
• Implicit modelling experience preferred. 

General role responsibilities:

• Conduct geological mapping, rock/soil sampling, and drill core logging in field settings.
• Analyze geophysical, geochemical, and geological data using GIS, ArcGIS, or similar software.
• Assist in exploration planning, 3D modeling of ore bodies, and resource evaluation reports.
• Perform site inspections, aquifer testing, and data validation for QA/QC compliance.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards during fieldwork and prepare technical summaries for teams.
