A vacancy exists for the above position reporting to the Production Manager Special Products
This job exists to ensure that special gases production requirements are met
You will be ensuring efficient and timeous supply of cylinders and compression of gas, maintaining staff morale, and maintaining optimum works stock
Anticipate and where possible, avoid the effects of raw material shortages on production, and actively participate in the solution process, comply with all SHEQ requirement
In this role you will assist with prioritizing of cylinder maintenance to achieve target work stock, any shortages are to be communicated with the production manager and inventory manager
Controlling and monitoring raw materials and empty cylinders inventory for all mixtures
Report daily on the production and contribute to achieving DIFOT targets. Monitoring MTO report to meet daily production targets and set SLA’s with customers
Further you will facilitate and co-ordinate the operation, including training the operators to conduct feedback, providing motivation, and reporting on progress
You will implement suggestions and improvements within the cylinder filling and maintenance operations and encourage continuous improvement
Participate in root cause analysis on failing mixtures
In this role you will ensure production consumables are available and communicate any requirements to production manager, assist with daily & monthly stock count
What makes you great
You must have matric qualification, a tertiary qualification in Chemistry/Engineering field, Driver's license will be an advantage
The incumbent should be able to work shifts with a 2-3 year experience in a production environment and some planning experience
Literacy, communication, people management & interpersonal skills required
