Junior Seed Production Officer at Sakata Seed Southern Africa

• Do you enjoy growing plants? Do you love the outdoors? Do you have a Diploma or BSc Degree in Plant Production/Plant Science or similar field of study? Are you energetic?
• You will join Sakata’s local Seed Production team that focuses on growing of vegetable seed varieties. You will follow the requirements defined by the Seed Production Department in conjunction with the greater Sakata international group. 

Your main tasks will be: 

• Implement the company’s Seed Production strategy in the Northern-Western Coast and surrounding areas to produce quality vegetable seed for the local and export market.
• Advise growers on best agricultural practices for seed production in the region. 
• Seed Production crop reporting and recording.
• Grower contracting. 

Are you willing to:

• Work flexible hours
• Travel extensively early mornings/late afternoons/evenings
• Overnight if operational required (B&B/Guesthouses)
• Do you have a Diploma/Degree? Are you computer literate? Do you have a valid Code 8 driver’s and PDP license? 
• Prior experience in seed production and/or vegetable production/farming would be an advantage. 
• You are a South African citizen with a clean criminal record and ITC record.
