Lab Assistant (Cytology) - Pretoria Histology Lynnwood at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

• To clean and maintain laboratory and assist with preparation of specimens in the laboratory. To generate accurate reports received from the relevant Pathologist in the Histology laboratory using Meditech system.

Requirements:

• HPCSA registration as Laboratory Assistant, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field

Required Experience:

• Experience within a pathology environment, Knowledge: Meditech system

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain good client relations to promote image of Ampath, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Perform general laboratory tasks in order to ensure the effective functioning of the laboratory, Perform Quality Control procedures in the laboratory in order to ensure best practices are upheld, Perform special cytology techniques in order to ensure timeous resulting of special cytology specimens, Prepare Cytology specimens in order to ensure efficient specimen screening
