The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for all laboratory activities at Masiphumelele Research Site, as well as to ensure that the final outputs and outcomes of all projects and programs are quality assured and completed within the required timelines.
Job Requirements
National Diploma in Biomedical Technology in Microbiology or Clin Path
Current active HPCSA registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (Applicants must be in good standing with HPCSA)
At least 1-3 years working experience as Laboratory Manager, preferably in a research environment
At least 1- 2 years of management experience
Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP)
Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Computer Literate (MS Office)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Client Service skills
Ability to build interpersonal relationships
Decision-making skills
Problem-solving skills
Planning and organizing skills
Attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure
Stress tolerant skills
Valid Driver’s license
Advantageous:
Clinical trials/research experience
Tertiary qualification in a life science field
